I remember the Sands Pancake House on Kingshighway as a young girl my dear friend and I would ride our bikes and we ordered the Hamburger. I enjoyed the Sands Pancake House very much!
Sands is nestled in the old part of town in Cape Girardeau established in 1953. Quaint mom and pop shop. Food was freshly cooked and very good. Yez, the French Toast is to die for! Definitely a repeat visit warranted.
This is a hidden little gem in this town. The food is good. The price is well worth the amount of food you get. It is nothing fancy on the inside of the restaurant but they do a good job overall. The food comes out quickly. Please don't forget they only take greenbacks (cash)!
Food is amazing, service is friendly and fast.. food is prepared fresh so the wait is a little bit but it's worth it.. We go every time we are in Cape Girardeau
French toast is to die for! Cash only but don't let that stop you. It was packed at 11:30 on a Sunday and people kept coming in. I know why! I will go back again!

Great home style food cooked one order at a time. One of the best breakfasts that I had eating out in years. The Sands opened in 1953 and I would bet they are using the same recipes. Food was great, portions are big, service was top notch. Place was packed so food delivery took about 15 min. Don't be a Karen. They will kick you out and ban you back to Waffle House if you act stupid.
I used to eat here on a regular basis when I was in college over 10 years ago. I was in town for the weekend and made time to eat there for breakfast. It was in a bigger location/new building which was nice - and we didn't have to wait at all and I remember it always being super crowded before. I tried the Big Man's Breakfast because I wanted a variety and it was only 11.99. I got eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns, and the best French toast I have ever had - it came with 3 pieces. I honestly cannot believe how much food I got for 11.99 and how good everything was! I always order hash browns well done anytime I go to breakfast and 99.9% of the time they are not well done and these were perfect (wish I took a pic)! Everything was delicious and the service was also great! This is truly a hidden gem in Cape. If you have a chance check it out! It is cash only but they have an ATM!
